Fuel Filter

A fuel filter is a filter in the fuel line that screens out dirt and rust particles from the fuel, such as gasoline, diesel and gas. Depending on the process and technology for the refinement of crude oil, residues are different. If the fuel containing some residues are used directly, it will cause rapid wear and failure of the fuel pump. To avoid such a problem, fuel filter is needed in the fuel line that filters out residues and provide clean fuel properly. Unless fuel filter is replaced regularly, it may become clogged with contaminants and cause a restriction in the fuel flow as well as a failure of fuel pump.

1) LIP type of fuel filter for LPG taxi
Evaporator system was adopted to the LPG cars before, however, it has been converted to the liquid fuel injection system of LPI recently (HYUNDAI NF SONATA, KIA LOTZE, etc.). Since then, it is manifested that LPI type has improved the fuel consumption rate, engine performance and the power than those of existing cars. Also, the smell of gas caused by the flow reversal has not occurred. In this system, fuel filter must be replaced in every 60,000 km due mainly to the impurities in liquid. Otherwise, BLDC motor may be out of order.

Replacement cycle of LPI fuel filter

• LPI fuel filter must be replaced regularly in every 60,000 km.
• Unless LPI fuel filter is not replaced regularly, fuel system(fuel pump, injector, pressure regulator, etc.) may become clogged with contaminants and cause an appreciable drop in engine performance.
• Be sure to replace fuel filter regularly and keep up high perform- ance of LPI engine.

How to replace

1. Start the engine and turn off LPI switch, then wait until the engine stops.
2. If the engine stops, close manual valve in bomb.
3. Remove battery(-) cable.
4. Replace fuel filter.

Caution

• In dealing with fuel filter and hose, be sure to ventilate around the workplace(not to work in a closed area) and keep away from inflammables.
• In case of installing a fuel filter, ensure that fuel inlet and outlet must be in right place.
  (If it is changed, fuel will not be filtered out).
